Bold Tendencies is a non profit community interest company (CIC) that organises free cultural events during the summer – 30 June to 30 September – on the rooftop of the Peckham multi-storey car park.

It is the second year that Bold Tendencies have been organising night events in Peckham’s car park, with the intention of reviving an area that usually is covered by national newspapers for its bad reputation.

The Copeland Book market inaugural edition was held in the rooftop over the weekend. More than 40 publishers from all over the world attended the art book market, a four day event that brought together an intense programme of talks, screenings and performances .

The venue is also showcasing sculptures from international artists on the rooftop. All the artworks have been commissioned on demand for this special venue.

Joseph Balfour, project manager for Bold Tendencies said:  “The first year we commissioned 15 sculptures, this year we decided to invest the same money in just six sculptures to give each one more budget to find the right materials. It’s a big challenge for the artists as they have to compete with one of the most beautiful views of London to grab the viewer’s attention.”

Alongside the sculptures on the roof a bar designed by Practice Architecture (Paloma Gormley & Lettice Drake) entertains visitors with greedy street-food and interesting cocktails. Open from 11.00am to 10.30pm.
