Massimo Pamparana nasce a Milano nel 1979.
Studia moda e inizia da subito a realizzare proprie immagini per stilisti. Nel 2005 realizza la prima cover di Slurp magazine e inizia a collaborare con varie riviste tra cui Amica, Gq Style Germania, Hero, Rodeo, Fantom, Max.

1) Come nasce la tua passione per la fotografia?
La mia passione per la fotografia nasce dalla passione per il cinema, ho iniziato studiando sceneggiatura negli stati uniti a UCLA, li’ ho iniziato a capire la forza dell’immagine e ad analizzarla.

2) Hai iniziato subito come fotografo di moda, oppure è stato un passaggio successivo?
Ho iniziato da subito come fotografo di moda. Sono cresciuto guardando The Face e ID.

3) Cosa significa per te la moda oggi?
Per me la moda oggi significa comunicare un proprio modo d’essere al di la’ delle tendenze del momento.

4) Quale è stato il tuo primo editoriale e come si è svolto?
Il primo editoriale e’ stato per la cover di Slurp n.1 e’ stato molto semplice ho avuto la fortuna di fare esattamente cio’ che volevo, ricordo che abbiamo scattato un po’ in studio e un po’ all’aperto. Volevo evitare il piu’ possibile delle pose statiche o qualcosa che risultasse finto. Volevo che il ragazzo posasse nella maniera per lui piu’ naturale e utile a comunicare l’idea che avevo.

5) Che direzione sta prendendo secondo te la fotografia di moda oggi?
La fotografia di moda oggi penso stia vivendo un momento di grande creativita’ ci sono tanti ragazzi che creano immagini molto interessanti, penso ci sia rispetto al passato piu’ spazio per i giovani di talento che vogliono provare a fare qualcosa con la fotografia.

6) Parlando delle tue fotografie, prediligi il bianco e nero? Il colore che sensazione ti da?
Il bianco e nero per me riesce meglio del colore ad esprimere quel senso di verita’ e immediatezza che ricerco nella mie immagini.

7) Quando scatti un ritratto, quali sono gli elementi importanti per te per sviluppare una buona fotografia?
Durante un ritratto cio’ che realmente conta secondo me e ‘ annullarsi totalmente nella persona che si fotografa. e’ molto importante che la spontanieta’ della foto riveli l’essenza del soggetto ritratto, poi penso che in un buon ritratto come in una buona foto non debba mai mancare un equilibrio dell’immagine.

8.) C’è un modello / a con il quale hai lavorato meglio?
Ricordo tutti i modelli con i quali ho lavorato con piacere.

9) Quando scatti che tipo di relazione instauri con la persona che hai davanti all’obiettivo?
Cerco di annullarmi il piu’ possibile.

10) Gran parte dei lavori che hai pubblicato sul tuo sito sono fatti in studio. Fare le foto in esterna che sensazioni ti da?
Non trovo grosse differenze tra fotografare in studio o in esterno, solo in esterno la moda deve risultare credibile con la location e cio’ non sempre coincide.
