Tereza Kleovoulou is a photographer from Cyprus, passionate with the streets and people. The themes Tereza has in mind when she undertakes a project is surreality, minimality and disorientation. Photography is her tool of expression.

Photography is a reflection of her whether she intends it or not.. She has a deep need to understand the world around her. But things are not always as they seem, and photography ‘records’ feelings that are sometimes hard to ‘read’

Her interest in conceptual photography began with her need to confuse the audience and raise questions about perception.

This project is a project about perception and luck.
I’m usually photographing in black and white and for this project I did that as well and I tried to explore the environment around me (my city) in a graphical/minimal way.

Shapes are important in this project and also the grey, low contrast way of shooting. It is a project about perception because the audience starts wonder what is shown in every photograph and what is hidden as well

The photograph with the ship is just a ‘sample’ of what the whole ship looks like. All the photographs have in common their simplicity, visually and their complexity as subjects.
Architecture is shown in each photograph except the one with the three birds in the sky, which is the ‘structure’ and symmetry of nature.

Exploring my city has become a graphic game of lines, invisible and visible.
