1) Can you tell us something about you?
I was born in a small island in the Atlantic Ocean called Madeira. I lived there for most of my life. I also lived in Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro for some time. I recently relocated to Australia.

3) How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been taking photos for many years but I never gave photography that much attention until a few years back. I used to be way more interested in film. That’s something I want to go back to pretty soon as well.

4) How did you get into photography?
I got a camera as a gift from a friend of mine when I was a kid. I remember using it but I don’t remember which photos I took with that thing. I had a couple of cameras I used to take on trips, then I got a video camera which I used until it broke. A few years ago I started getting the photography equipment I was happy with and I’m still using that at the moment.

5) Where your inspiration comes from?
I’m inspired by other photographers, film, music, images that I see everywhere, the work of other artists, people and life itself.

6) What does it mean for you streetphotography?
I think it’s a genre within photography. I don’t really know how to describe it but I tend to associate it with the kind of photographs made in city streets that capture little glimpses of everyday life.

7) Can you tell us something about your portraits, what’s is important to focus for you?
I like when you get a non posed look from the subject. It’s hard when you’re trying to shoot someone’s portrait and they’re posing too obviously or beaming their “camera smile”. Sometimes it’s pretty hard to get what you want. There’s quite a bit of luck involved as well. Sometimes good portraits happen when you’re not even trying to shoot a person’s portrait. Sometime’s they happen in candid situations.

8.) What are your future works, do you have a special project?
I’ve been shooting a lot of different stuff for publications as well as personal work. I’m just editing new work and trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. I’m also looking into publishing a small edition book soon.
