“SYMBOLS” BY MARCIN RYCZEK

Marcin Ryczek is a photographer from Poland.
His concept images refer to the symbols and geometry. The main principle in his photography is the
esampszyn „minimum form, maximum content”. The crisp lines in the photographs inferdigital editing, but in fact are composed solely from Marcin Ryczek’s careful observations and intuitive compositional skills. While the geometry or black-and-white printing seem to suggest coldness upon an initial glance, the drive behind the work has a more philosophical tendency.

Often the subject of Marcin Ryczek’s work is focused on an individual quietly existing in the world: a quiet reflection transcending the lens to impact the eye of the beholder.
Minimalistic and realistic scenery is a metaphor of such topics as freedom, peace, nostalgy, positive and negative aspects of life. The photographs are graphic, however, they mirror reality without designing the world in graphic programmes.

His images are presented at exhibitions in Japan (Tokyo and Osaka), USA (New York), Germany
(Weimar), China (Beijing), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Romania (Cluj-Napoca), Denmark
(Copenhagen) and France (Paris)…

“SYMBOLS”

02 Hiroshima - Phoenix rising from the ashes

It is a coherent series of minimalistic and conceptual photographs which refer to symbolism. The minimum of the form and the maximum of the contents and references – this is its main feature and keynote. The images and frames found in the real world, in its form refer to geometry, simple lines and shapes. The photographs have “graphic nature” but they are natural, without the use of graphics programs.

03 Liberation

They are made primarily in the black and white colour scheme, what deepens their minimalism and what is a tip of the hat to the classic, traditional photography. Photos by their simplicity, innovative and unique approach, have to attract the attention of the recipient, stir imagination and open fields for various interpretations. They force us to draw our eyes closer and to deeper reflection.

04 Graph of life

The series have a universal character, that’s why it points to the sensitivity of people from around the world, who live in different cultures, who profess different religions and political beliefs, which may be proved by a worldwide success, recognition and a “warm” reception of photo “A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow”, which belongs to this series.
