97680018Quattro in 400 metri.

Four in 400 metres: a hurdle race.
The entrance is often the same, but after the fifth step you have to make your choice: wild and cheap, squared and expensive, organic and warm, transgenic and enormous. You find the cart outside, the basket inside; but in the cheap one there are no baskets around. Right in front of the door an enormous machine, people lining up to get rid of bottles, boxes and containers for which they paid the pfand.
They all start with vegetables, vegetables no one will be able to convince you that they have been grown in the area. Kiwis are sold by piece, potatoes and onions only in bags of at least 3 kg. The bread baled in the supermarket tries to compensate the not too natural look it has with the fact that it has been just taken out of the oven.
Herrings, sour cream, instant soups, international food. Shelves of dressings and sauces, candies and chocolate without reserve, the widest variety of joghurt ever seen before and then, trapped in a cold freezer, the same fake, perfectly round and shaped vegetables.
