YOUNG IN ISRAEL

In Israel, when you reach 18 years old you must join the army. Every men and women – with very few exceptions – must serve. During January of 2014 I spent sometime talking to these young people so they could tell me a little bit about their reality.

Luisa Nolasco, Bachelor in Cinema at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and Fine Arts Specialization at School of Visual Arts from Parque Lage. Studied photography at Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco. Professor of photography at Park School and invited lecturer at the Institute Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. Worked at Educational Cultural Center of Brazil´s Bank as an art educator and participated in the research for “Humanities” exhibit, project by Bia Lessa. Was a photography assistant at ET-S Hokin Studio in San Francisco. Directed the short documentary film “Women in Funk”, selected to participate in the International Short Film Festival of Rio de Janeiro and the International Festival of Latin American Cinema, among others.
