Graceful ladies series are about breaking a social custom in Korea. Living as a not married woman in Korea, there are so many rules that I have to keep in order to become a proper woman, or to be marry-able woman.  Not to mention, living with my boyfriend should be kept in secret forever unless I marry him, even smoking on a street is forbidden for women. To behave myself is impossible living in this culture, and decided to not obey and be a choice to be an outsider, even though I have to put up with backbites along with judgmental eyes. Photos were taken in all over the place, London, Korea, Paris, Saipan, New York and so on. I move around constantly, can’t stand being settled.  However, for an year and a half, I’ve staying in Seoul, Korea cause of my parents, and these days, mixed feelings of love and hatred of my country becomes source of my work.

    IS THIS LOVE? HAHAHA
its just pretend to look like having special personal life. but nothing. always same pattent between young people are unknown yet but is to be famous photographer. 🙁

  2. well i don’t agree with you. we just wanted to show different kind of photohraphy, if you don’t understand that, well i’m sorry for you. If you don’t like i hope you’ll speak more about the photos and not about what you call “disgusting”.

  3. Taking into consideration Korean traditions, I think it’s been extremely brave of this young lady to make a project like this. It is shocking indeed and I can only imagine how much more shocking it may be for somebody from Korea. Good job on the project! It is well-organised and it does leave a feeling afterwards.
