It rained ashes for three days. On Friday, September 1st, 2017 a fire broke out in La Tuna Canyon near Sunland, CA and over the next few days developed into the largest brushfire fire in Los Angeles history. Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes in Sunland, Tujunga, Burbank, and Glendale.
Craig Leonard’s recent work includes handmade records for the Los Angeles punk band the Screamers, a collaborative project with the Maritime History Archive on Newfoundland’s resettlement program, an examination of the Cuban Independent Library Movement, and a bookwork consisting of obsolete concepts from the Oxford English Dictionary.
While the Casa Wabi Foundation was being designed, the artist Loris Gréaud was contemplating burying his sculptures to create a real underground sculpture park. After some years and many meetings between the artist and the Casa Wabi Foundation, the project will finally be inaugurated next month.
