Swiss artist Pamela Rosenkranz (b.1979) has been selected to create the exhibition at the Swiss Pavilion at the 56th International Art Exhibition. For her exhibition titled Our Product the artist has teamed up with the German curator Susanne Pfeffer, director of the Fridericianum in Kassel.

Rosenkranz’ works reflect on history, politics and philosophy, but also include references to technology, medicine and pop culture. It addresses the shifting philosophical and scientific meanings of the ‘natural’ and the ‘human’ during Anthropocene (the geological epoch marked by the impact of human activities on the ecosystem). She translates the questions she poses into abstract sculptures, works on paper, video and installations, deploying a palette of familiar objects and pictures such as polyethylene water bottles, soft drinks, color scales of global corporations, JPEGs of the international Yves Klein Blue and ASIC sneakers. In her work for the Swiss Pavilion Rosenkranz will reflect on the human subject being nothing but a fluid trace, a serial association generated from synthetic materials. She confronts us with the implications of neurobiological research which tells us that a material self can no longer be conceived of as a fixed entity but is subject to constant change.

«Salon Suisse» S.O.S. Dada — The World Is A Mess
Complementing the exhibition at the national pavilion in the Giardini, the Swiss Arts Council organizes the «Salon Suisse» at the Palazzo Trevisan degli Ulivi (Dorsoduro 810). The programme of this year’s forth edition of the «Salon Suisse» is structured by the two Dada-specialists Juri Steiner and Stefan Zweifel who invite their guests from all over the world to discuss the cross-epochal force and the timelessness of Dada. Events and discussions will take place on five weekends over the course of the Biennale

Programme – Salon One: 4 – 6 June 2015 / Salon Two: 10 – 12 September 2015 / Salon Three: 15 – 17 October 2015 / Salon Four: 19 – 21 November 2015
