Peacock Chair

What is this? At first glance it looks like a sculpture, a blossoming flower. In fact, the Peacock chair takes inspiration from nature, more specifically from the tail of the bird that opens like a fan.

The Peacock chair is the result of a collaboration between the UUfie architectural firm and DuPont. It is made from a single sheet of DuPont Corian which has been cut, bent and folded through a process of thermoforming. The idea and the design process began almost as a game, trying to compose something unique by folding a sheet of paper.

The final element is the freezing of a fluid motion, capturing a moment of beauty. For sure, a chair like this requires a significant amount of space, but it is made to attract attention, to characterize the space, to seduce: it almost looks like a modern throne. It has been designed for who wants to relax and kick back in style.

The choice of name is not accidental: in fact, not so much the object itself, but the shadow that it casts, reminds of a peacock’s tail. Peacock is produced in three versions, large (limited edition), medium and small. It is made both in white and in other colours and it can be used both indoors and outdoors.
