Two-Sided

Biography
Rachael Banks is a Louisville, KY native who resides in north Texas while pursuing her MFA degree in photography at Texas Woman’s University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in photography and painting at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY.

Two-Sided is a series of work that examines the entangled relationship between two characters. The artist and model are photographed together to communicate a surreal notion of duplicity and codependency. Experimental self-portraiture is used to explore a hidden identity within the self. This photographic series investigates memory and story telling through both personal and conceptual narrative. Two-Sided is about the sharing of secrets and dreams and the physical representation of trust that is gained from disclosure. All images from Two- Sided were photographed digitally and in the northern region of Texas.
