Collages. By Rin Johnson

Rin Johnson is a photo conceptual artist. She makes photographs and abstract works based on photographs. She has exhibited in Berlin, Germany; Brooklyn, New York; Los Angeles, California; New Haven, Connecticut; New York, New York; and San Francisco, California. She is an alum of New York Uuniversity’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied photography and urban planning. She is originally from San Francisco; she lives in Brooklyn.

While living in Berlin all my possessions of any value were stolen. In response I began to work almost exclusively with free magazines and foto-automats (photo booths). These are my self-portraits from that time period. They incorporate line sketches, photo booth photographs, and found images.
