Fashion at IUAV 2015

As every year, the Venetian University plays up its Fashion Design degree and exhibits all the collections created by its students.

This time, to celebrate a new edition of the graduation show IUAV organized not just an academic event, but also a real marathon of meetings dedicated to “fashion and innovation” topic will take place in Venice, deeply wanted by the italian fashion “guru” Maria Luisa Frisa.

Positive Magazine will be there, following the event as a media partner, on the 2nd and 3rd of July, and will publish on its website a special service about everything that will be shown in the lagoon city.

The title chosen for this 24 hours marathon is “L’Italia è di moda” (Italy is trendy). It’s not a question at all, but a real statement, as if it was necessary to repeat a precise concept, the “made in Italy” one, maybe taken for granted lately: since the global challenge against the Italian fashion industry seems to have started, the “made in Italy” needs to be constantly called into question, also to find new ideas and to be competitive once again.

The 3rd of July is the day students long for the most: they will see their collections shown at the ex Magazzini Frigoriferi (you can reach it by steamboat from the S. Basilio stop, lines 5.1/5.2 and 2). It will be a real graduation show and a unique occasion for those who are finishing their studies (MA&BA degrees): great names and designers will organize the event, such as Arthur Arbesser, Veronika Allmayer-Beck, Michel Bergamo, Cristina Zamagni, Fabio Quaranta and Paulo Melim Andersson. Fashion shows will start at 8:30 pm and later there will be the final refreshment party, to conclude in a perfect way this marathon, that will transform Venice for two days into the Italian fashion capital -the fashionable Milan is lending Venice its scepter in honor of the occasion!
