Roslyn Julia is from a small town in western NY called Corning. She completed a two year associates degree in Fine Arts and Design from the SUNY school, Corning Community College. She currently attends the BFA Photography program at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Her work illustrates a quest of finding one’s own place in the world and reflecting upon it.  The images transcend reality to show a fleeting moment, that like a memory, will not be remembered in full clarity.  The vast and seemingly empty scenes reveal a paradox of hope and hopelessness within one image. All of her work explores perception and inner being, lending room for contemplation and even a feeling of nostalgia.
