April is finally arrived! Are we excited for the sun, nice weather and spring? No. Because, even this year, the time of the Salone del Mobile and the Milan Design Week has come. The focus will be, as always, Rho Fiera, the Milan fairgrounds, which will become the international design meeting point for a week, from 12th to 17th of April.
The event will involve the whole city thanks to FuoriSalone, exhibitions, parties, events and openings that will animate the different design districts of the city as Brera, Porta Venezia, San Babila, Zona Tortona, 5Vie, Statale, Sant’Ambrogio and Lambrate.
2016 edition is the 55th of the appointment of the most expected design and furniture in the world: we’re talking about 55 years of history and innovation, in fact every year the Salone del Mobile is renewed becoming increasingly international.
This year there are various news, in fact: there will be some exhibitions organized to anticipate the opening of the main event, like “11 Rooms. Other philosophies of living’, inaugurated on the 2nd of April at the Palazzo dell’Arte in Milan: an exhibition with 11 rooms dedicated to interior design feature great design exponents.
Inside the Salone, the stand 3 will be completely dedicated to the luxury design, XLux (this is the name of stand) will be the master of the big fashion brands such as Fendi, Cavalli and Borbonese.
While, on april 12, in Rho Fiera, the exhibition ‘Before Design: Classic’ will open: an exhibition that will tell the story of classic furniture from the fifties to the present, a historical overview through the success of Italian design.
For visitors (which in the previous edition were 310.840) the City of Milan, in collaboration with other protagonists of the event, will provide a paper map, where the main event site and public transportation to reach them will be listed. Visitors will also be able download the app SalonedelMobile.Milano 2016, the official application of the Salone del Mobile.
