Photos by Jack Davison
Jack Davison is a 23 years old photographer living in England. He didn’t study photography but he has an English Literature degree in Warwick University. His work is a mix of both film and digitally manipulated photography. Portraiture and street photography, I’d describe his pictures realistic, truthful, genuine.
Jack’s last serie, “26 States”, collects faces, memories and stories from 26 states in America. He spent 6 months in the USA, taking 10.000 pictures.
“I found America a very easy place to find subjects in, there is a certain friendliness and ease with which you can approach people and ask to take a portrait of them. It undoubtedly helped having a foreign accent when sidling up to people in the street and sticking a camera in their face.”
Black and white photography seems to speak to him more than colour does. It doesn’t represent an aesthetic choice for him but just an intensification of the image’s mood.
Besides this serie, Jack’s works consists of wonderful portraits.
