Mireia Bordonada was born in Barcelona in 1979. She studied Photography at the IEFC – Instituto de Estudios Fotográficos de Cataluña. In 1999 she started working on “A way of life”, a project divided into different series – Two-Tone, Interiors, Making off, la Jungla and Retrats Musicals – focused on rebel youth in Barcelona. In 2001 she moved to Belfast where she produced the photographic essay “Between the game and the violence”. In 2005 this work was awarded by the Seminario de Fotografía y Periodismo de Albarracín directed by Gervasio Sánchez. In 2009 she was selected for Alberto García-Alix Master Class in Photoespaña, Madrid.

Currently she combines her work in photographic workshops with people in prisons (4 Camins project by Ruido Photo), and her work as graphic editor for the digital magazine 7.7  as well as her teaching activity at CFD Centre Fotografia Documental in Barcelona. Her work has been shown at Fotografía y Música de Noche in Photoespaña, CCCB, TRAFIC and Ojo de Pez Photo Meetng Barcelona. She is part of the photographic collective Malocchio.

Ten years ago two of my current interests have appeared almost at the same time. One one side I started to use photography as a means of expression and on the other the Punk&Skin culture appeared in my life as a social movement related with music, a way of life and an attitude.
