CMMN SWDN AT LCM SS16

For Spring Summer 2016, the theme for CMMN SWDN was the interpretation of real life. The vision of the clothes are very simple and casual. The prints was inspired by famous paintings from artists such as Nicolas de Staël, Albert Glizes and Tayeb Metha on vinyl, reworking and distorting the prints, using mixed media, screen printing and collage to create their ‘Genuine fake’ art.

Most of the silhouette are dominated by oversized leather jackets and wide-legged trousers and shorts, crop tops and shirts, with technical details added to each piece. According to Hedlund, this collection emphasis the silhouette, proportion and the fabrication, which added different views to our body shapes. The colours choice were very cool toned, focusing on navy, brown and grey palette, with a sudden shade of yellow and nude to give the collection more summery vibes.

Overall, the collection has shown the simplicity and yet unique style created by CMMN SWDN. The gramments are very wearable and situation for any occasions, I am looking forward for the next season.
