Faustine Steinmetz SS15

Edited by Angel Leung – Editor from UK

This was the first show of the new SS15 season in London for me and Faustine has set a high bar for the day. Faustine is born in Paris and studied at Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris and moved to London to progress her master in Central Saint Martins under the guidance of Professor OBE Louise Wilson. Faustine launched her label in early 2013 after worked for Jermy Scott and Henrik Vibskov.

They reproduce everyday pieces such as denim that was hand made from scratch. As well as denim, they also reproduce couture dresses that are very eyes catching. All pieces are made in the UK with hand weave fabric in their East London studio. For this season, the inspiration came from the almighty couture houses and the fusion between fashion and everyday’s life. The pieces included techniques such as hand weaving, hand knotting, hand dying, hand embroidery, hand made jewellery and hand painting. These techniques were used to enhance the special and uniqueness of Faustine’s craftsmanship.

I have greatly enjoyed the presentation of Faustine’s design. They are very modern, but unique. You cannot find anything out, the details of each pieces were precise, clean with a twist. Lastly, I would like to thanks Faustine and PurpleprFashion for inviting me and having me for the day. Thank you and congratulation.
